Site information

Accessibility

Our goal is a mathematics website that is usable with a keyboard, screen reader, and a variety of devices.

Accessibility approach

This website was designed with WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidance in mind. Design choices include:

  • Semantic landmarks and logical heading structure.
  • Keyboard-operable menus, links, quizzes, and answer buttons.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators.
  • Readable text, scalable layouts, and color choices intended for sufficient contrast.
  • Text instructions and feedback messages announced to assistive technology.
  • Reduced-motion preferences and print-friendly lesson pages.
  • Mathematical expressions accompanied by readable textual descriptions where necessary.

Important limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing process. This prototype has not undergone a comprehensive screen-reader audit, formal WCAG conformance assessment, or district approval. Some mathematical notation and learning activities may still need refinements after user testing.

Feedback and accommodations

If a feature is difficult to use, please contact the teacher using your regular school communication channel. Alternate text-based or printed practice can be provided through the classroom's usual arrangements.

Helpful keyboard controls

Use Tab to move among controls, Shift + Tab to move backwards, Enter to activate buttons, and arrow keys to choose radio-button answers.
